have you tried Firefox?  It has an extension that blocks flash.  It's 
totally free.  I don't use IE because it's a menace too.

If you like a FAST browser, try Opera.


I seem to remember that there's a flash updater that sits in your 
startup somewhere.  Try locating and eradicating it with msconfig or 
hijack this.


The web `designers' will never learn.  When I do `web design' it's with 
a text editor :)   We can have a perfectly wonderful `web experience' 
without Flash, javascript, popups, cookies, CSS, or most everything else 
they're trying to foist upon us.
