In WinXP (and 2K), individual user's preferences are stored in "profiles" and each UserID has it's own profile. The "Send To" context menu is considered a "per user" preference and therefore it's stored under each user's profile.
The profiles are located here:
C:\Documents and Settings
There is one profile for each user that has logged-on to the system, plus an "All Users" profile and a hidden "Default User" profile. You'll find a "Send To" under each user's profile - find yours and add/delete whatever you choose to - it won't affect any other user's "Send To" menu.
I've found that adding "Send To" to the "All Users" profile doesn't work, so if you want every user to have a specific "Send To" menu item, you'll need to add/delete it from each user's profile.
For reference, the hidden "Default User" profile is used as the "template" for new users. By customizing the "Default User" profile, you can make sure all new users on the system have the exact same "look and feel" (including "Send To") when they login to Windows. However, this is an advanced configuration thing and beyond the context of this e-mail. So, for now, don't touch the "Default User" profile.

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Send To in XP or Media Center
In W95B and W98SE, located in C:\Windows was a folder called SendTo. In Windows Explorer when the SentTo folder was clicked in the left pane, you saw a display of all the available shortcuts in the right pane. By right clicking in a clean space in that right pane, selecting New, then selecting Shortcut you could all addtional shortcuts for use in SendTo.
How is the same thing done in WinXP and WinMediaCenter?
John
