Jeff is absolutely right about not leaving the security settings the way they
come out of the box. There are at three or four houses in my neighborhood
with wireless networks (I'm not one of them). One of my friends has a wireless
equipped notebook he sometimes brings along. Just as a demonstration, he got
into one of the networks at least far enough to bring up a directory of the
boot drive.
