[Ham-Computers] Compaq Startup Disk Needed

Hi Paul,

Compaq should replace this free of charge. If you have proof of being the
original owner, that is. If you can prove legal ownership as a used computer
from whomever, that is a bill of sale, receipt etc. You can still get one.

I would ask for a supervisor, be prepared to give the bottom rung of the
case escallation ladder a good reason for needing a supervisor, as they are
under oders not to connect without a 'good' cause! Then be polite, but firm,
and request their assistance.

Surely that system has internal software to burn a backup in such an
emergency, they know where it lurks, even if you can not find it Paul.

I wonder if there is not one saved in the "system" directory? It is probably
a "hidden directory", so you will first need to see it on the CRT and then
check inside it in the various sub-directories.

If all else fails, let me know. There is another way, a last resort.
