and Internet still works ??
I guess that's a router with build-in Firewall.
a router is a routing device.
a proxy or firewall can blocks ports, but there are enough port 80 (http of
web) attackers...

Onderwerp: [Ham-Computers] Routers are effective!
Hello,
My 'new' (for me) LinkSys router arrived this morning and I have it
installed and operating well. It is VERY effective. Before it's
installation, Zone Alarm reported well over 6,000 "blocked attacks"
since I installed the DSL service last Monday. Since installing the
router, Zone Alarm hasn't seen a single attack!
I guess they do work 8-)
I'll run it with just this one computer for a couple days and if things
continue to go well I'll tie my wifes Email machine into it.
Thanks all for the help and suggestions I received!
