Depending on the "age" of the computer, RedHat may not install. I
have a couple of "older" ASUS SP97V boards with AMD K6/300 processors
and RH 9 and Fedora Core 1 refuse to install. RH 7 installs fine.
Which ever Linux variant you choose, you may want to check and make
sure it will install on your hardware. Especially if it is the
typical install CD/DVD. The actual code should run without any
problems, but it may be next to impossible to get it installed.
There are a lot of variants out there, so you should be able to find
quite a few that will install. All it will take is a little time to
investigate.
