You could have put the memory sticks in wrong OR you need to reinsert 
them by taking them out and putting them back in.
The memory might have not seated properly or alittle corrosion is on the 
contacts.
It could also be a BIOS issue try to enter bios then exit, see if that 
corrects the memory issue.
Have you checked the site for the motherboard for a bios upgrade (flash)?
