[Ham-Computers] Win98 "Garbage Collector" - was "RAM Defrag"

Yeah, if it hadn't been for Tuboscope I'm sure my 4.x system would still be 
running as well, although we would probably have had to replace the Tricord (it 
only had some 36 GB online not counting hot swap drives [at a time when 1 GB 
SCSI drives cost $1000 each]).  But our current situation is such that what 
browser we run is 'way below the bottom of the priority list.  Programs like 
ImagingProfessional, NikonView, ListerPro, dBase and even Acrobat are critical to 
paying the house note.  And if even one of them won't run under Linux, then 
Linux is not an option, unless we want to starve in the park.  

I guess the bright side would be that the park is only one house down the 
street, so wouldn't be for to move.  No AC outlets out there though.  :-)
