Good for you Robert. When you find a program that does what you need, there is
no reason to upgrade and screw things up!
The only program I can use to print checks with is Quicken 8.0 the last DOS
version. Nobody supports the Windows versions, not even the screen reading
programs.
I realy do not care if Tarzan The Ape Man crawls out of my computer and rattles
the windows with that thunderous whatever the heck it was call of his! Upgrades
almost always lead to trouble, so why break what is working?

Duane,
I actually bought an original IBM PC-XT as well, but for my sister to keep
her plantation bookeeping records on. I had a Bondwell XT clone (whatever
happened to Bondwell (Taiwan I think)? They built excellent equipment) but she
wanted the "real thing". It was after the AT came out and I think I paid
something like $2200 for it. Don't recall what monitor I bought for her, but
she
used the system for years. As you say, built like a tank. Accounting package I
supplied her with was the same (but not a copy) as one I was using, written by
a guy in Mesquite, TX. Can't for sure recall the name of his company but
think it was CMS. I used the program until 1994 when I switched over to SBT (a
dBase app that I could customize for radio collecting interests). Which I'm
still running to this day.
