That's probably correct, now that I think back. In those days, they were
pushing the operating speeds of the older CPU's, sometimes with gimmicks
actually. There was a speedup chip set for the 80286/80287. I think that's what's
still in my Portable II, running at 12 MC. And the last hard drive I put in it
was either a 64 or a 100 MB. One of these days I'll have to bring it home
from Storage and see whether it will still boot up.
Incidentally, my Portable I is in one of the rare (at the time) padded dark
tan carrying bags. If anyone is into collecting early computer stuff and has
some green or black wrinkle stuff they don't care for. Unfortunately, I no
long have the Commodore stuff or the DeskPro 386.
