[Ham-Computers] internet connection

Had a good one till about 3 hours ago
i have no FTP, NO WEB BROWSING, NO IM  
I DO HAVE e-mail
all other connections are down

USING WINXP
internet explorer 6
outlook 6 
windows firewall (UP/DOWN NO DIFFERENCE)
connect to wife's computer via ether net card (100MBS) and a cat 5 cable
her computer connected to cable modem

have disabled and repaired connection 
changed browser settings and even did a sys restore

all this started after i did weekly defrag
