Those particular computers run nothing but job
information and data collection. The software is
backwards compatible to Win 95 but I'd like to stay
legal and I have plenty of 98 licenses.
With all data accessed from and written to an NT
server, an occasional workstation reinstall is
actually less painful than scandisk and defrag.
On Win2k, I've had just the opposite experience as you
- it burps more often than 98 or NT in our shop.
Alas, the software we use does not run on linux so
that's not even in my dreams.
