[Ham-Computers] True or False?

Jeff,

When you can get Linux to support Arkenstone Openbook Unbound, JFW 3.7, DECTALK
PC and Vocal-Eyes so that a totally blind person can use it, let me know.

Windows 2K/ME has more holes than Swiss cheese on steroids. XP Home Edition is
OK, but replacing the adaptive hardware and software that won't work because of
the changes in the design, costs about four grand.

If you can make Linex work Jeff, let's do it.

I have no idea what your requirements are, but if you're getting new
boxes, I'd use Win2k. 98 is just plain unstable and requires constant
babysitting and eventual reinstalls to keep it going. At least 2k is
stable, which is what you need for business installations.

When we went from 98 to 2k, it just about stopped all of our Stupid
Desktop Support Calls, freeing us up to do something productive instead
of saying "Reboot please."

XP actually works on slower machines than 2k but I really don't like it.

Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't put in a plug for linux, which
you simply don't have to reboot like Windows.

Good luck with the project,
jeff
