[Ham-Computers] Java2 or Javascript & IE6

Group,

I have two browsers installed, IE6 and Mozilla. I'd probably run Mozilla and
forget about it except that Mozilla has some problems (never finishes loading
my home page, a local Xerox printer, never finishes loading an eBay auction
item, etc.). IE6 of course installs with a fresh installation of W2K.
Somewhere along the line of the patches and Service Packs (possibly IE6 SP1), you end
up with Java2 V1.3.something. Repeated "Security Fixes" downloaded from the
Microsoft site eventually damage Java.

Usually this results in Add-Remove Programs refusing to run which means a
two-day fresh start from scratch. However, the most recent "Fix" damaged it but
Add-Remove Programs still worked so I removed it, thinking that all I'd have
to do was go to the Microsoft Update site and it would hand me a fresh copy.
Wrong. And I can't find it on their site. I determined that you can't
uninstall IE6 and start over. Any suggestions as to where to find the Java
installation file?
