I agree with you about XP -v- ME, especially with stability
issues.

What quite a few people don't realize, is that with 98,
98SE & ME, is that if they'd at the very least get the
"mapped drives shutdown" & "Hard drive cache package"
updates, their PC would be less likely to lockup overall.


I myself prefer Win ME, as not only was it Microsoft's last
dos-based OS, but has what is arguably the best feature in 
Windows (overall) "System Restore"
