[Ham-Computers] Hardware suggestions for Linux system in theham shack

I have a question similar to those that have come up in this thread.  All of 
the machines (except for the Xerox DC-430ST which strangely enough probably 
runs Unix) on our LAN run W2K.  One of the machines runs MicroSoft SQL Server 
and an application using it that is critical to our survival (i.e., paying the 
light bill, etc.).  Is there Is there any Unix or Linux equivalent of MS SQL 
Server that might run an application written for it?
