John,

Assuming that your requirement is just to print a satisfactory hard copy, 
that would be or should be a printer driver function.  Or at least it is here 
with both the HP and the Xerox drivers we use.  There may be a button called 
something like "Fit to page" to check or more likely an Enlarge/Reduce slider bar 
type control.

Also, depending on which way the image was saved you may need to switch from 
the usually default portrait to landscape mode as well.  Crudely put, 
landscape is wider on the screen than it is tall.
