[Ham-Computers] Win98...not convinced this is a virus

The only documented situation where that is the case that I could find is:

"This behavior can occur because the version of the Scandisk.exe file 
located in your computer's root directory (C:\) or in the 
C:\Windows\Command directory does not match the current version of your 
computer's operating system" -

Also, I found a possible answer to the problem of Norton Disk Doctor not 
running in the place of Scandisk:
