[Ham-Computers] Intermittent Computer lockup under Norton

Hello all
I'm running a 500MHz Intel P3 with 256MB RAM. Recently I installed Norton
Systemworks 2001 on it and with Liveupdate made sure I had all the updates
to it. I'm running Win98SE with all updates.

Reason for switching from the AVG antivirus to Norton was that AVG didn't
recognize the Eudora 5.1 Email client I switched to.

My Problem: Ever since I've switched to Norton I get intermittent computer
lockups on various programs. Eudora is only one of them, it's also
happened in windows Explorer and other programs. Sometimes when this
happens I can "recover" by using the old standby, Cont/Alt/del keys and
shutting down the program that is locked up. Other times the entire
computer locks up and the only thing I can do is a hard "reset" with the
button then watch that yellow line crawl across the screen 8^( It doesn't
appear that any one program or "routine" will cause this problem, it's
entirely random but a pain in the backside. Never had this problem prior
to installing Norton.

Any ideas? If I can't correct this problem I'll have to remove Norton and
Eudora and go back to AVG/Outlook Express 6.0, something I'd prefer not to do.
