The first thing I would do is to go to the Windows update site and make sure
that you have all of the available Windows updates for the version you are
using.
I bought XP - hated it and took it out - Wasted $100!!!!
I have three machines running WIN ME and they are somewhat buggy; I am
thinking about re-installing WIN98SE again.
I have a APS ups (USB) and have had no problems.
You might try re-installing WIN98....
