At least swapping 6146s will give you something without too much risk.
Now, back in the old days, when a box of ten 5.25" floppies was $40, we
used to punch a hole to use the other (uncertified) side. Doing
something risky that *doubles* your storage/speed/whatever is perfectly
fine ;-)
