[Ham-Computers] DSL Tweaks ?

Like many DSL victims, I mean users, I'm not particularly happy with the 
song & dance that my isp gave me.

My ADSL modem is the Efficient Networks SpeedStream 5260, and my os is 
Windows 98 SE.

Is there a "tweak" or mod available ? System settings ???
