The GHOST restore process can be to any type of hardware - For the most part, GHOST doesn't care nor check for type of hardware - only the size. If the destination drive is larger, then GHOST defaults to using the full size of the drive. You can also convert from FAT16 to FAT32 (as long as your OS supports FAT32) during the restore process. If the drive is smaller, then GHOST warns you that data may be lost if the amount of data exceeds the size of the drive.
An issue may arise if you're GHOSTing from a SCSI drive to an IDE drive when you're using a WinNT based OS (such as WinNT, 2K, or XP). The BOOT.INI file on the boot drive of these OS' have a parameter that may prevent the new IDE drive from booting since Windows is expecting SCSI hardware. There's a work-around for this, but beyond the scope of the original question...e-mail if you need more info.

Just a question the the use of Ghost for creating a disk image of - can the disk you
restore to be any make or model or does it have to be the same make and model?
