The misuse of props in movies is often a laugh but this is a
book, not a movie. The sets are referred to as "tranceivers" a
couple of times and its indicated there is more than one. The bad
guys are using them to communicate with each other and with the
cops. The book was published in 1978, not sure what Hallicrafters
was making then. It got my attention because its rather unusual
for radios to be described by brand name in books.
Goofs in movie props are endless.
