Strange situation!

It appears that someone has removed turns from L4 in an attempt to 
change the tuning range!

With the dial at red 1000 and C25 closed L4 will adjust to 4.850. From 
there any adjustment send the VFO higher in frequency and lower in 
amplitude.

On closer inspection it appears that for some unknown reason turns have 
been removed from L4!

Has anyone encountered this problem? Was this some kind of a CB 
conversion (I have not checked for the effects of the removed coil 
winding on the 10 meter band).

Anyone, assuming I am correct regarding the coil modification, has a 
spare L4 laying around?

I guess, using the residual coil dope residue as a guide, add some turns 
to L4.

I would rather replace it.
