[Hallicrafters] SX-117 muting

Looking for confirmation:

I'm hearing myself on SSB through the SX-117, even though the receiver
is "muted". It's faint, but loud enough to be annoying.

I see that there was a service bulletin (1964-4) that addresses a
condition in transceive with the HT-44 (mine is stand alone with a CE
100V), that provided for "further isolation." In looking at the
schematic, it would seem that the modification would increase the
muting, but I just wanted to make sure before I started hacking around
with the soldering iron.

Anybody have any opinion? My 117's serial number starts with 117002...

And hoping to find an INTACT HT-44 to marry it up with. The auction
site has some interesting specimens at the time of this writing which
confirm PT Barnum's assertions. Why someone would have ripped out the
phasing transformers to put it on CB...

Thanks all --

Jeff
