Hi John, Bob, et al,
I operate my HT-32 (not A, but should be exactly the same here) and
SX-115 weekly. All you need to do to zero beat is flip the operation
switch on the xmtr to "Cal", and leave the PTT alone, the rcvr listening
normally. You probably will have to increase the "Calibrate Level" pot
so you can hear the signal. I have my level at about 6 on 20m. It
probably assumes you have at least the driver stage peaked on the band
you are on.
hope this works for you,
73,

Al, W8UT

I am using a SX-101a as a receiver, and in doing so, I utilize the VOX relay in the TX to switch Pin 7 on the accessory plug on the RX from Gnd to Open, on PTT. When the relay (pin 7) goes Open, it disables the receiver audio, thereby unable to hear any zero beat. Is there a SECRET method?? Any help would be appreciated.
