For some time, I've used separate caps to replace the 3-in-1's.  I use a 
terminal strip, mounted atop a threaded bushing.  The bottom of the bushing 
can usually screw onto an exposed screw shank or transformer mounting stud 
(on xfmr'd radios), so you don't need NEW holes.  A 3-term strip works, IF 
it's isolated from ground, otherwise a 4-term would be indicated for your 
radio.  For "cans", I just leave the old can in place, but not connected to 
anything.
