Hi Tom:
Orange drop means a lot of different things to different people.
The orange drop caps that people refer to were Polyethylene and now are several other similar compositions. They come in radial multiple colors, including the orange drop/radial.
The notion that Polyethylene or Polypropylene capacitors are going away is technically and financially absurd.
Case and point. Polypropylene in all of its physical forms are regarded by todays designers to be equal to Mica or class 1 Ceramic capacitors. All three of the dielectrics have similar characteristics.
Mouser has a huge variety of Polypropylene capacitors from various mfgrs. If you are searching on orange drop, your getting an infinitely small selection which is based on the trademark name Orange Drop. Get rid of the orange drop name and search on Polypropylene. They will be around long after any of us can remember what they’re used for.
Kindest regards Jim K9AXN

The techrep at MOUSER just wrote me that the "orange drop" capacitor line has been purchased by CDE. Vishay/Sprague has discontinued the line, so maybe they're around, after all.
