Tinnitus happens a lot to people who are exposed to loud noises for long
periods over a long time. Think a machine shop, factory, processing plant,
etc., with large machines making lots of noise. I have it but very mild,
and not a nuisance for the most part. It does not interfere with Ham radio
at all for me.

I have it but don't ascribe it to ham radio. I spent 11 years in
the Rock & Roll radio business around live, loud music as a host &
DJ in the 1960s. That was much more harmful than ham radio to me,
even attending car races can be the cause, like Funny cars and
rails.
Did you have a sound system in your car and run the volume so you
could "feel" the music? Pilots of twin engine recip planes had
trouble in their left ear while the co-pilot had the same problem on
the right side. I am a long time single engine pilot so that added
a bit to my problem, which is minor compared to some descriptions I
have heard
