Hi Bob,
I've always been a fan of the 'Electronic T-R Switch'. Commercially made by EF Johnson and B&W, but a fun homebrew project as well, its single tube (plus rectifier) design provides a few db of gain while receiving and effectively cuts off the signal to the receiver when transmitter RF is present. However, just enough RF passthrough is available to provide a monitor signal without overloading most receivers. You even get to listen to your own clicks, chirps, and signal 'shape' as heard by the receiving station(s).
Some folks used to report increased TVI when using these things, but I've found them to be trouble free in my stations since 1960. In fact, I've been using the EFJ model to successfully feed all the receivers in my current 'system' since about 2004 and have had no RFI issues.
