[Hallicrafters] Echophone Hogarth Ads

David Sarnoff, of RCA, basically hated Bill Halligan, of Hallicrafters, and refused to grant Hallicrafters a license to use the Hazeltine patents.  To get a license, Halligan purchased Echophone and Sarnoff could not do anything to prevent the license transfer from taking place.

It seemed to me that Hallicrafters bought Echophone in
the mid- 1930s.  I found the history at
http://www.ea3edk.com/HistoryHalli.html

Hallicrafters took over Echophone in 1934. It gave them
a valid RCA license and a good manufacturing plant.
Hallcrafters had first made a deal to aquifer
Silver-Marshal, who had financial problems to obtain their
RCA license but this arrangement came to an end because of
financial difficulties and S-M was succeeded by the merger
with Echophone. Evidently, the use of the Echophone name was
discontinued sometime in the late 1940s.
