[Hallicrafters] Hallicrafters S53 A IF transformers and parts

Thanks, Joe. When I get around to the S53A, I have switches and pots to clean as well as caps to change. No Hum eminating from audio. I hope it is not the IF cans unless I can find replacement parts. I used to just change the cans in the old "all American fives". Will keep you informed. 73, John, K5PGW

John, that sure sounds like silver-mica disease in your IF transformers. You may be able to repair those IF transformers.
