They'll be inductive if you are not feeding them at their resonant frequency. There will be a freq where they will show only a resistive impedence. But it isn't easily determined on paper. When I was playing with slinkies, I had to measure the resonant freq and play with the lengths and number of turns until it fell in the band I was interested in. It was interesting tinkering but not very practical for my needs. That was long enough ago that there weren't modern auto tuners that may could have matched randomly stretched slinkies without all the fiddling I did.

Hey, lemme kick the horse too.

Yep, a novel idea to use the post WW-II Slinky toy - actually was a method
to keeping plastic & canvas piping from collapsing (war use). There were
hundreds of thousands of 'em in a warehouse, bought by an enterprising chap
who repackaged them and it was an instant hit with kids (I'm one). Later,
the US Military had a "field expedient" antenna, using two of them. Yeah,
they work, but are very, very inductively reactive, so getting a good match
isn't always a slam-dunk. Ahhh, but as I've been oft' quoted - there are
two schools of antenna design - "ARRL Perfect", and "real life"
