[Hallicrafters] How To Unsolder Can Capacitors

I found the real heavy chisel tip on the Hakko iron does an awesome hi heat
job

I've had de solder stations by Weller / Ungar and Xytronic. Both work for
pcb repair, the Xytronic is much less maintenance than the Weller / Ungar of
which tips went obsolete anyway.

But, the Hakko pistol is one amazing de-solder unit. Never used anything
like it. I think the secret is having the pump in the tool. And, that large
tip with the 1/16" hole can really act as a big soldering iron too. Just
amazing. The pistol grip makes for good control in tight spaces

I heard about them, found a new one on ebay store, closed eyes and pressed
send on the payment. Never regretted that purchase

I have a Hakko 927 that I use for general soldering. I do need to get
some different tips for it. I only drag out the gun for certain jobs.

I have a Weller DS500 desoldering station but it's no where heavy duty
enough for this job.
