Found at local parts store a large transmitter plugin RF coil set, labeled only with a stamped "51C711". It
has about 8 primary turns and a rotating secondary of 4 turns (if I recall correctly). Cermamic strip has 5
large banana plug pins, two connected to the secondary. One of the pins needs replacement (I think I have
one that will fit).? The Web search only turned up National Stock Number links indicating the part is for
11 - 14 MHz and is from Northrup-Grumman.? I think that's because N-G bought Hallicrafters at some point in
time.? I assume the coil I found belongs to a Hallicrafter's transmitter, or was a Hallicrafters product
for homebrewers.? Does anyone know which is the case?
