[Hallicrafters] More SX-100 Help Needed

I am trying to adjust the S meter.  The manual says the meter mechanical 
adjustment is under the Hallicrafters emblem on the face of the meter 
and it is pivoted at the top so it will swing to the side.  Not very 
likely.  What nondestructive methods have others used to get the emblem 
to move?  I've tried Windex, a couple of drops of WD-40, a little bit of 
contact cleaner, and so on with no success including tapping VERY 
lightly on the side of the emblem.
