Decent receiver but not up to the standard of receivers of the same approximate vintage like the Hallicrafters SX-28 and the Hammarlund SP-200. With only one RF stage, it's not quite as good as the Hallicrafters SX-25. I don't have an HRO so I can't compare. Selling is attractive but they're pretty plentiful so you may not be able to get all that much for it.

Since it's from the late 30's I thought I might pair it with my Stancor 110C transmitter but I had been planning on using an HRO for that purpose.  Please give me your candid thoughts on the SX-24.  Please keep it simple.  Keep or sell and a few reasons why.  I suspect I know what I will hear already....like drifty, not too sensitive or selective and 'use the HRO'.
