In response to my own question regarding replacement and/or repair:

Hammond 270HX<http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Hammond-Manufacturing/270HX/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMumryolnogYRhElZItiX0KT>for
under $100.00 looks like a viable replacement if necessary and it does
indeed look like Gary at least still has a website up for
