I once wrote, in my column for the Kansas Amateur Radio Newletter, about 
just such a thing - also mentioning, that it's IMPORTANT to make your 
friends, wife, sig-other, or parents AWARE of WHAT you have in that little 
room, and roughly what it's worth.  Also, whom to contact to help them with 
disposal, so it does'nt end up in a garage sale or worse - a dumpster.

A "pocket history" of your ham-self is important too.  It' a hobby that's 
put many of us on a life's career-path, and as it was SO important, it 
should NOT be forgotten.  Yeah, and if you're in that 10th. call area, be 
sure they understand WHY that big O in your callsign has a slash through it!
