Unfortunately the Dejavu compression system used at BAMA
for many files results in pretty awful looking stuff. This
was done originally to save space but the site owner decided
it was a mistake and switched to PDF. PDF can be
over-compressed too but that is not encountered so often.
I've posted one manual to BAMA (Hallicrafters S-20R) but
my file is many times larger than others there and, I think,
larger than it needs to be for good resolution. At the time
I did not have enough experience with scanning and
converting to know how to adjust the size better than I did.

I will also say that the BAMA site is extremely
valuable. While there are other archive sites BAMA seems to
have more stuff than the others. With a few exceptions most
is useable. Those interested in supporting the site and
having original material and the means and time to scan it
can fix the problem of low res stuff by providing better
replacements for it.
