Interesting. I've had a similar thing happen to me for unknown reasons when
working with the Image-Viewing program I use for quick glances. I learned
better than to modify (not even a rotate) an image with it in the same 'hard
way' manner. Now I stick to my 'real' imaging program when working over raw
images. Lost some resolution on several images however. Live and Learn.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED - direct from the "reworker"
///snip
Hi Tom,
The reworking was a tryout for getting easier access to some of the
material, that was in poor-contrast loose page scans to start with.
The work was done in PageMaker and the output was in PDF form.
It was not my intention to replace the original files. That was done by the
site owner.
Later it turned out that in making the pdf something was gone wrong with the
resolution, and we quit the process, but by then there were several files
switched, and the originals irretrievable, because there was no backup..
The extra logo was just advertising for BAMA and a little vanity on my side
Hi.
The problems that exist on this moment have nothing to do with me: I quit
working with BAMA 7 years ago.
Hope this explains it.
