[Hallicrafters] Hallicrafters HA-8 Modulation Monitor

I have an HA-8 Modulation Monitor that does not include the detector unit. I can probably build one fairly easily, but I have a question about the UHF Tee adapter M-358. Is this a "standard Tee"  that will connect full power that is going out to the antenna to the detector unit also? It seems as though there should be a sampling procedure at that point so full power does not get to the detector. Wouldn't a better choice be a Tee with a small gap between the main line and the detector connection?

Inquiring minds need to know.
