Absolutely correct, I once invested a lot of time in an SX-28 also before
realizing that.

Deducting the cost of the basic radio, he's working well under minimum
wage.
Yeah yeah, I know it a labor of love etc. I tend to put the SX-28 in the
same category as an older SP-600. Once you DO (properly) one, you never
want to do it again.
My only question is, Why white dials? I've seen some beautiful amber
reproductions that look like the originals. Although.....it might be neat
to put amber bulbs behind the dials and meter. The SX-28 that W3HM has
is
a similar restoration and has the correct amber dials. I'm not sure how
much he's asking for it but I don't think it's $2k.
