[Hallicrafters] S 76 Question

I have noticed that some S 76 receivers have antenna trimmers and some do not. Can any of you Hallicrfafters historians explain the fact regarding the antenna trimmers? Is it a matter of date of manufacture of the various models? Did one series have the antenna trimmer and another not have it.

I further note that some models have skirted knobs and some models do not. The same question as above desires an answer. I would appreciate the benefit of your historical knowledge of the Hallicrafters S 76 receiver. Thanks and 73, John, K5PGW (Old Geezer Radio)
