[Hallicrafters] Real radio men don't need no silly instructions

I don't think Hammarlund was able to sustain the $129 for the HQ-129-X for very long; but it may have lasted 12-18 months... that was before my time; I'll have to study the ads.
Back in the beginning of the Age of Enlightenment, W4ATC, the club station at NC State University, had a 129X and an NC-300. I operated the station quite often and used both receivers; but always preferred the 129X especially on CW. They also had an SW-3 stuffed into a junque pile in the closet; it had been the first station receiver back in the early 30s according to photographic evidence. The club had an auction to raise funds for purchase of a set of Heath Twins (eccch)... the SW-3 brought a grand total of five dollars. Wish I'd bought it!
