Hi David,
	I guess I'd try it.  Ludwell Sibley, in "Tube Lore", says, about the 
7854, "5894 format" same heater, 60W vs 40W, "Variant: 8624", which is 
quick heating.
under 5894, he doesn't mention the 7854, says variants are 8509 & 8643, 
and that the 5894 is an updated straight sided variant of the 829B.
