I read it twice and still saw HT33A...<sigh>
It's not nearly so simple with the 32<:-)) I has more parts.
So, backing up and I've not worked on any of my 32s for some time...
IF the fuse blows immediately you can pretty much rule out most things
down stream from the power supply.
Even the filter cap needs the rectifier to warm up...which doesn't take
long.
Unplug the rectifiers and see if the fuse still blows. IF so try a
variac and measure the current at low primary voltage with the
rectifiers still unplugged. I believe (if memory serves) there are some
bypass caps on the ac line.
If the problem persists with the load removed the odds are not good for
the transformer. Of course there could be shorted wires, and broken
switches, but the odds at this point would be with the transformer.
Transformers are available and can be rewound, but are not the cheapest
component in there.
There are many on here who know the innards of these things better than I.
