[Hallicrafters] Scope and sweep gen

Just about any analog TEK scope is cheap theses days and under $100. The 50
MHz 453 and 100 MHz 465 are extremely rugged, compact and have better focus
than most. The early 453 has nuvistors in the front end which can be hard to
find if needed. A 465 with the built in DVM is a great choice.

Rack mount SS lab scopes are a drag on the surplus market and some great
deals can be found but plug-ins can be a PITA and the operation is rather
complex for just a receiver.

My own scopes are a 453 with probes for $40, a 465/DVM for $100 plus $20
each for new probes, R7904 with a bunch of plug ins and expansion rack for
$150. These all came from a local surplus dealer where I coud test before
buying. All have their use as Im often involved with equipment at much
higher frequencies than BA's.
