6 months or so ago I "bit" on an internet sale for the CASIO Waveceptor
watch.
It's powered just like any electric watch with a small lithium cell.
It was very annoying trying to get it working initially and at the correct
time as the directions were obviously written by a geek who had never been
involved in explaining things clearly to mere civilians and likely wasn't a
native English speaker.
It's suggested to orient it in a particularly direction at night and on the
side of the building that is towards Boulder Colorado where the LF signals
originate to synchronize clocks.
I find that a majority of the time it does get an update after 1 or 2 tries
between 1 AM and 5 AM. Signals are strongest during the night hours.
I couldn't get it to synchronize at our summer cabin on the east side of the
Sierra at 10,000 feet with another 1500 feet or so of steep mountain rising
immediately to the east towards Colorado. Our canyon is unusual for that
part of the Sierra as it runs north-south, thus the taller mountains to the
east and the west closeby.
It's a fun "toy" and I do wear it daily though replace it with an old Timex
when I'm doing garden work and could scratch it and get in a lot of dirt and
dust.
For the $10 or $12 it cost it was worthwhile.
